About
I was born and raised on the sunny island of Singapore and have been in the creative industry since 2005. I first started out working on TV commercials, TV series, and games as a 3D generalist, animator, and rigger.
In 2010, I took a big step and moved to the UK to pursue a Master’s degree at Bournemouth University. That experience opened the door to my visual effects career, and soon after I joined Framestore in London as a Compositor. Over the years there, I grew as an artist and eventually worked as a Lead Compositor on Thor: Ragnarok in 2017.
In 2018, I moved to New Zealand to join Weta Digital (now WetaFX) as a Senior Compositor. These days, I’m based in Vancouver, Canada, continuing my journey with WetaFX. Along the way, I also returned to Framestore—this time in Vancouver—as a Lead Compositor on Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.
“JasonCartiver” has always been my online persona, which is why this site is called jasoncartiver.com.
Outside of VFX, I’m a big fan of traveling and photography. I love exploring new places and capturing moments through my lens. At the end of the day, I’m driven by curiosity, creativity, and the excitement of telling stories through images.
